FAQ
Clear answers about Aevum’s pathways, appointments, measurement, nutrition, technology, sauna and visiting the Brighton clinic.
Aevum Clinic is a body composition and metabolic health clinic in Brighton, Melbourne. Nutrition, practitioner guidance, measurement and technology are combined in personalised pathways (Reset, Contour and Signature) rather than one fixed program for everyone.
People searching for weight-loss options often focus on the number on the scale. Aevum is built around body composition, including fat, muscle and related measures, rather than a crash diet or a single stand-alone treatment.
Read how it works or about Aevum and Dr Kiaanna.
Aevum is for adults aged 18 and over, of all genders, who want a structured, practitioner-led approach to body composition in Brighton.
It may suit people who prefer measurement, nutrition and in-clinic technology rather than prescription medications, injections or extreme calorie restriction. Not everyone will be suitable for every pathway or every technology. Suitability is assessed before you begin.
Yes. Aevum is available to all genders. Aevum is currently for adults aged 18 and over.
The right pathway depends on whether your main need is nutrition and lifestyle change, localised body-contouring technology, or a complete managed process. A short consultation confirms suitability before you begin.
You do not need to choose a program from the website. The consultation is there to understand your goals and recommend the appropriate pathway.
Aevum Reset is a three-month practitioner-led foundation pathway focused on nutrition, lifestyle, body composition and accountability. It does not include Emerald Laser or Ballancer Platinum by default.
Aevum Contour is one technology-led pathway with 15 or 18 sessions, meal-planning resources and brief in-session guidance. It is not an actively managed nutrition program.
Aevum Signature is the complete pathway: Reset-style practitioner support with 15 or 18 Emerald and Ballancer sessions as one program.
Aevum Reset is a practitioner-led program focused on identifying and addressing the key factors influencing your metabolic health, with personalised guidance, nutrition and accountability to support consistent progress. It is a structured three-month practitioner-led program and does not include Emerald Laser or Ballancer Platinum by default.
Aevum Reset is $699 first month, then $399 per month. There is a three-month minimum. The total initial program is $1,497 AUD. Continue Reset month-to-month for $399 per month after the initial 3-month commitment.
Reset is built around nutrition, habits, measurement and practitioner adjustment. Three months gives enough time for those changes to be established, reviewed and refined.
No. Aevum Reset does not include Emerald Laser or Ballancer Platinum by default. Technology belongs to Contour, Event Contour and Signature.
Continue Reset month-to-month for $399 per month after the initial 3-month commitment. It remains Aevum Reset. It is not a separate program and it is not Aevum Continue.

Course length is selected based on goals, suitability and practitioner judgement, and progress is reviewed over time.
Aevum Event Contour is a shorter technology-led pathway: 10 sessions at $2,299, or 12 sessions at $2,699.
For holidays, events and special occasions. Event Contour is the shorter pathway for modest, localised goals. It is not expected to match a full Contour course. Individual results vary, and Aevum confirms whether the shorter course is appropriate.
Contour is Aevum's one-area technology-led pathway, with measurement, meal planning and foundational nutritional support. Course length is 15 or 18 sessions. Contour Plus uses the same course lengths and works on two suitable areas in each visit.
Event Contour is a separate shorter pathway of 10 or 12 sessions, with concise guidance and two Tanita analyses. It does not include meal planning, metabolic testing or a Reset-style review schedule. It is not expected to produce the same degree of change as the full Contour course.
Aevum Signature combines practitioner-led metabolic health support with 15 or 18 Emerald and Ballancer sessions, metabolic testing, meal planning and targeted nutritional support. Reviews are weekly in month 1 and fortnightly in months 2 and 3.

Wear comfortable clothing to your Aevum appointment.
For Emerald Laser, wear clothing that provides easy access to the selected treatment area.
For the Tanita assessment, be prepared to wear underwear, close-fitting gym wear, swimwear, or similarly form-fitting clothing. You do not need to be unclothed.

The Tanita MC-780 is a multi-frequency body composition analyser that uses bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). It is not DEXA, MRI, CT or a medical imaging scan, and Aevum does not use it as a medical diagnosis.
You stand on the platform and hold the handgrips. A reading is taken in a short time.
The assessment can provide measures and estimates relating to body fat, muscle mass, body water, a visceral fat indicator, and segmental body composition (for example arms, legs and trunk).
These figures are estimates for tracking during a pathway, not a medical diagnosis.
The usual measurement points are baseline, midpoint and final. A practitioner may scan more often when it is useful.
Appropriate programs receive a start-versus-finish comparison and a detailed Tanita report. How those readings are interpreted depends on the pathway.
Contour receives a general explanation of major body-composition changes. Reset connects the readings to nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. Signature includes ongoing interpretation and active adjustment. Continue includes occasional Tanita measurement where appropriate.
No. Aevum does not guarantee a specific amount of weight, fat or circumference change. Individual experiences and outcomes vary.
Aevum uses Tanita measurement to track change rather than promising a predetermined result. Technology is one part of the broader pathway.
Reset and Signature include structured practitioner involvement in nutrition, habits and accountability. Contour includes practical meal-planning resources and brief in-session guidance only.
You are not required to follow a prescribed crash diet or extreme calorie restriction. How you use the guidance is discussed with you.
Contour includes practical meal-planning resources and brief in-session lifestyle and nutrition guidance. It does not include scheduled nutrition consultations, weekly nutrition accountability, detailed pathology interpretation or full personalised nutrition management.
Foundational nutritional support is included. A separate supplement allowance is not included. Signature includes targeted nutritional support up to $200.
Yes. Contour clients may optionally add metabolic testing, From $250 AUD. Detailed practitioner interpretation and ongoing protocol adjustment are not part of standard Contour.
No. Aevum does not currently provide physiotherapy, personal training or exercise physiology.
Aevum may provide walking targets, general activity guidance, simple exercise suggestions and accountability. Where pain, injury or mobility complexity makes proper exercise prescription necessary, external professional input may be recommended.
Emerald Laser and Tanita MC-780 are used inside Aevum pathways rather than as a standard standalone treatment menu.
Ballancer Platinum can be booked as a single standalone session at $75 AUD. Casual infrared sauna is a separate service. EVRL may be added to an appropriate visit.
Yes. A standalone Ballancer Platinum session is $75 AUD. It is a pneumatic compression, recovery and wellbeing session, not a fat-loss treatment.
Emerald Laser is a non-invasive, non-contact, low-level green laser technology manufactured by Erchonia. Aevum uses the Emerald Model SHL on technology-led pathways (Contour, Event Contour and Signature), not as a stand-alone treatment and not as part of Reset by default.
Erchonia Emerald Model SHL is entered in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods, ARTG 395892.
Read more on the Emerald Laser page, or see how technology sits inside Aevum on the technology overview.
Yes. Emerald Laser is a non-invasive, non-contact technology. It does not involve surgical incisions or injections.
Non-invasive does not mean risk-free. Suitability is assessed before treatment.
Emerald Laser at Aevum is directed at an agreed treatment area. The laser is non-invasive and non-contact. Protective eyewear is worn during treatment.
A standard Emerald treatment cycle is approximately 30 minutes and includes a halfway point in the cycle. On technology-led pathways it is typically followed by Ballancer Platinum in the same visit.

On technology-led pathways, the same visit typically also includes Ballancer Platinum.
Emerald Laser is non-invasive and non-contact. Many people find the session comfortable. Individual experience can vary. Non-invasive does not mean risk-free.
Emerald is non-invasive and non-contact. There is no expected recovery period after a standard Aevum session, although individual experiences can vary.
Treatment area is agreed during consultation based on suitability and goals. Manufacturer documentation relates clinical safety and effectiveness data to areas such as the waist, hips, thighs and upper abdomen. Not every person will have every area treated.
Emerald is not used on the face, neck or breast.
Emerald Laser is not suitable for everyone. Aevum screens clients before treatment using the manufacturer's qualification criteria. This includes factors such as pregnancy or breastfeeding, certain medical conditions, implanted devices, medications, skin conditions and recent procedures. Please provide complete and accurate health and medication information before treatment so suitability can be assessed.
This information is not a substitute for medical advice from your own healthcare professional.
Aevum reviews the manufacturer's qualification criteria before Emerald treatment. Screening categories include being under 18; pregnancy or breastfeeding; open wounds or infections; certain skin conditions; personal or family history of cancer; diabetes; epilepsy; previous eye laser surgery; photosensitising or blood-thinning medication; autoimmune disorders; pacemaker or other active implants; metal implants; recent fever or illness; recent Botox or filler treatment; and other recent skin or medical history the manufacturer asks clinics to consider.

Aevum offers Emerald Laser as part of Contour, Event Contour and Signature from its clinic in Brighton, Melbourne, at 123 Martin Street, Brighton VIC 3186.
Read more on the Emerald Laser page, or see visit information.
Ballancer Platinum is a sequential pneumatic compression system. Inflatable chambers within the garment fill and release in sequence to apply controlled, wave-like compression. Aevum uses it with Ballancer Pro compression garments on technology-led pathways, typically after Emerald Laser in the same visit. It is not assumed for every Aevum client.
Read more on the technology page.
You wear a Ballancer Pro compression garment over light clothing. Chambers fill and release in sequence, creating controlled, wave-like compression. It forms part of a technology visit rather than a separate stand-alone treatment.
No. Ballancer Platinum is not suitable for everyone. Aevum reviews relevant medical history before use, including cardiovascular or vascular conditions, pregnancy, circulation concerns, blood clots and recent surgery or procedures. Please disclose relevant health information before your appointment so suitability can be assessed.
This information is not a substitute for medical advice from your own healthcare professional. Aevum does not market Ballancer Platinum during pregnancy.
Manufacturer precautions include heart or vascular problems, conditions involving medical devices, pregnancy, poor circulation, numb or insensitive areas, blood clots, deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis, swollen or inflamed areas, skin eruptions, unexplained calf pain, and recent surgery or medical procedures.
Aevum reviews relevant history against these precautions. This is not a diagnosis. Abdominal Ballancer treatment is not used during pregnancy.
EVRL Targeted Photobiomodulation is a handheld low-level laser used for targeted photobiomodulation where appropriate. It is used for focused musculoskeletal, soft-tissue or recovery support rather than as a broad-body treatment.
EVRL is an optional targeted treatment where appropriate. It is not a primary Aevum program. The add-on is $35 AUD. EVRL is not combined with sauna.
Aevum uses an I-Health two-person infrared sauna. A casual session is $35 AUD and is typically booked for around 30 minutes.
The sauna is offered for warmth, relaxation, recovery and general wellbeing. Aevum does not present it as a fat-loss treatment, a detoxification cure or a treatment for disease.
Yes. Infrared sauna is included while you are active on Reset, Contour, Contour Plus or Signature. A standalone casual session is $35 AUD and is booked separately. Aevum Continue does not include sauna.
After an eligible Emerald-based pathway, Aevum Continue may be discussed. Some Reset clients finish with a plan and continue independently, or move into another pathway.
Continue is for eligible clients after an approved Emerald-based Aevum pathway involving at least approximately 10 Emerald sessions. It is not an entry pathway. Reset alone does not automatically unlock Continue.

No. Reset, Contour and Signature are time-bounded pathways. Aevum Continue is ongoing monthly maintenance after an eligible Emerald-based pathway. It is not another way to begin.
